East-West 30th Anniversary Symposium

University of Sheffield, 2025
Title: East-West 30th Anniversary Symposium

I was proud to contribute as a PhD volunteer to the East-West 30th Anniversary Symposium at the University of Sheffield in 2025, a major international event organised by Dr Xiang Ren to celebrate three decades of East-West Studies in Architecture and Landscape. The symposium brought together scholars and speakers for interdisciplinary discussions on architecture, landscape, urbanism, and the future of East-West thinking on a planetary scale. My involvement enabled me to support an important academic platform that fostered research, dialogue, and institutional collaboration.

This volunteer experience was especially valuable as it placed me in a dynamic academic environment shaped by keynote talks, panel discussions, a book launch, and the opening of the Peter Blundell Jones: Architecture, Landscape and the City exhibition. As part of the symposium team, I contributed to the smooth running of an event that engaged leading voices from various universities and disciplines. For my website, this experience demonstrates my ongoing involvement in research culture, academic collaboration, and the organisation of international scholarly events in architecture and landscape studies.
