Title: THE DIGITAL PRESERVATION OF THE PADLEY MILL AS BOTH HERITAGE AND KNOWLEDGE

I had the opportunity to contribute as an on-site assistant to the research paper “The Digital Preservation of the Padley Mill as Both Heritage and Knowledge” by Xiang Ren and Huriye Armağan Doğan. The project focused on the digital preservation of Padley Mill in Grindleford, Derbyshire, United Kingdom, using advanced documentation methods such as 3D LiDAR scanning and photogrammetry to record and safeguard this significant piece of architectural heritage.

Working with Xiang Ren and Huriye Armağan Doğan on this project provided me with valuable practical experience in heritage documentation and digital preservation. The research involved on-site fieldwork, detailed data collection, and the creation of accurate digital models to support the long-term preservation and understanding of the site. Being part of this process enabled me to contribute to a meaningful academic and technical effort that connects architecture, history, and digital technology.

I am proud to be acknowledged in the paper for my on-site assistance. This experience strengthened my interest in research, documentation, and the use of digital tools in preserving historic environments. It was a valuable opportunity to support an important project while learning through a collaborative academic process.
